Urdu Text Editor

This Urdu text editor gives you a clean writing space that already knows Urdu. It opens in right to left mode, uses a Nastaliq font, and keeps your letters joined the way Urdu should look. You do not need to install software or change your keyboard settings.

You can write a letter, a school assignment, a social media caption, a poem, or a full article. When you are done, you can copy the text, download it, print it, or turn it into an image to share. Every change you make is counted live, so you always know how long your text is.

1. Click inside the writing box. It already faces right to left for Urdu.
2. Type your Urdu text. If you cannot type Urdu on your device, paste it in or use our online Urdu keyboard first.
3. Select any part of your text, then use the toolbar to set the font, size, color, or alignment.
4. Watch the counters below the box to track words, characters, and reading time.
5. Choose an action: Copy, download as .txt or Word, save as an image, or print to PDF.

Your work is saved in your browser as you type, so a refresh will not lose it. Use Clear saved text when you want a fresh start.

Select the words you want to change first, then click a toolbar button. Formatting only applies to the text you have highlighted.

Urdu is usually written in Nastaliq, the flowing, slanted style you see in newspapers and books. Naskh is the flatter style common in Arabic and on many phones. This editor lets you switch between them from the Font menu.

The editor shows Nastaliq only if a Nastaliq font is installed on your device, such as Jameel Noori Nastaleeq or Noto Nastaliq Urdu. If you do not have one, your text still works perfectly, it just shows in your system Urdu font. You can install a free Nastaliq font from the sources listed at the bottom of this page.

You have five ways to take your text out of the editor:

The image export draws your plain text onto a picture using your chosen font, size, and colors. It is made for short pieces like quotes, captions, and poetry rather than long articles.

A normal Notepad or a fresh Word document does not assume Urdu. You often get letters facing the wrong way, broken joins, or numbers on the wrong side. You also have to set up an Urdu keyboard and font first.

This tool is built for Urdu from the start. It is right to left by default, uses a Nastaliq font when it can, counts Urdu words correctly, and runs in your browser on any device. For heavy document work with page layout you will still want Word, but for quick, correct Urdu writing this is faster.

Honest limits help you pick the right tool:

• It does not check Urdu spelling or grammar. For that, use a dedicated Urdu grammar checker.
• It does not translate. It is for writing Urdu, not converting languages.
• It does not do full page layout, headers, footers, or page numbers like a word processor.
• The image export handles plain text styling, not complex mixed layouts.
• It cannot type Urdu for you. It needs Urdu input from your keyboard, a paste, or our online keyboard.

• Wrong direction. If English or numbers jump to the wrong side, use the Direction button to switch that line.
• Missing Nastaliq. If your text looks flat, you likely do not have a Nastaliq font installed. Install one, or keep Naskh on purpose.
• Losing formatting on paste. Word and web pages carry hidden styling. Use Clear formatting after pasting to reset.
• Copy not working. Some old browsers block the clipboard. Select all and copy manually if the Copy button does nothing.
