See the rhyme scheme of your Urdu verse, group the rhyming misras, and spot the main rhyme at a glance.
Quick Answer
The Urdu Poetry Rhyme Analyzer reads your verse one misra per line and groups the lines by their ending sound. It labels each line with a rhyme letter, shows the full scheme, and marks the main rhyme. This is a heuristic aid based on line endings, not authoritative prosody. Everything runs in your browser.
Analyze Your Rhyme
Paste your Urdu poetry with one misra (line) on each row.

The rhyme is judged by matching the last two letters of each line, so lines that share an ending are grouped together. It does not hear the true sound, so confirm the rhyme by ear.

What the Urdu Poetry Rhyme Analyzer Does
The Urdu Poetry Rhyme Analyzer shows how the lines of your verse rhyme with one another. It reads your poetry one misra per line, groups the lines that share an ending, and gives each group a letter, so you can see the rhyme scheme at a glance.
Rhyme is the thread that ties a ghazal or a poem together. By laying the scheme out as letters, such as A A B A, the tool makes it easy to check that the rhyming lines truly match and to spot a line that falls outside the pattern.
Everything runs on your own device. Your poetry is never uploaded or stored, so it is safe for unpublished work and private drafts.
What a Rhyme Scheme Is
A rhyme scheme is a simple map of which lines rhyme. Each rhyme sound is given a letter, and every line that shares that sound gets the same letter. Lines with a new sound get the next letter, so a pattern like A A B A tells you the first, second, and fourth lines rhyme, while the third stands apart.
In a ghazal, the matla rhymes on both lines, and after that every second line carries the same rhyme. That gives a familiar scheme where one letter repeats down the poem, with the opening line of each she’r taking a fresh letter.
How to Analyze Your Rhyme
- Paste your poetry. Put one misra on each line. The box is set for right-to-left Urdu.
- Read the scheme. The letters appear in order, so you can see the pattern of your verse straight away.
- Scan the table. Each misra shows its ending and its rhyme letter, and the lines in the main rhyme are tinted.
- Refine and recheck. Adjust a line that does not fit, paste it back, and see whether it now joins the main rhyme.
How the Rhyme Grouping Works
The analyzer looks at the end of each line, since that is where Urdu rhyme sits. It sets aside spaces, punctuation, and the small vowel marks, then takes the last two letters of the line as a rhyme key.
Lines that share the same key are placed in one group and given the same letter. This works whether the rhyme comes from a repeated radif or from a qaafiya alone, because both leave a matching ending. A line with a new ending starts a new group and takes the next letter.
The tool reads and groups only. It does not change your text, and the same poetry always gives the same scheme.
Reading Your Rhyme Results
The summary cards show the number of misras, the number of rhyme groups, the main rhyme ending, and how many lines sit in that main rhyme. Together they tell you how tight the rhyme is across the poem.
Below the cards, the scheme is written out as letters, and the table lists each misra with its ending and rhyme letter. The lines in the main rhyme are tinted, so a line that breaks the pattern stands out at once.
A Worked Rhyme Example

نیند کیوں رات بھر نہیں آتی

Rhyme, Qaafiya, and Radif
In Urdu, the rhyme is built from the qaafiya and, when present, the radif. The qaafiya is the rhyming word that changes from she’r to she’r but keeps the same sound, while the radif is a word or phrase repeated unchanged at the end of the rhyming lines.
This analyzer looks at the whole ending, so it groups the rhyming lines together whether they rhyme through a radif or a qaafiya. To study those parts on their own, try the Urdu Ghazal Structure Checker, which detects the radif and the matla directly.
Who Uses This Rhyme Analyzer
New poets use it to check that their rhyming lines truly match before they finish a ghazal. Students use it to see a rhyme scheme laid out clearly while they learn the form. Editors use it to scan a poem for a line whose rhyme slips out of the pattern.
Anyone studying a poem uses it to map the rhyme quickly, since the scheme in letters is far easier to read than checking each line by hand.
Accuracy and Limits of the Analyzer
The result is deterministic. The same poetry always returns the same scheme. The tool matches line endings only. It does not hear the true sound of the rhyme, it does not check meter, and it does not judge your verse.
Good to know: because the rhyme key is the last two letters, two lines can be grouped together by a shared ending even when they do not truly rhyme in sound, and a real rhyme can be missed when it is spelt differently. Use the scheme as a guide and confirm the rhyme by ear.
Privacy and Data Processing
The analyzer runs fully in your browser with standard web technology. Your poetry is not uploaded or stored, and it is not sent to any analytics service. Only your star rating is sent, to record the tool’s rating. When you close the page, your text is gone.
