How the Poetry Formatting Works

The result is deterministic. The same poem with the same options always produces the same layout. The tool arranges your lines and cleans their spacing only. It does not check meter, rhyme, or grammar, and it does not judge your verse.

Good to know: stanza breaks depend on blank lines, so the tool splits a stanza only where you left a blank line. Punctuation tidying removes a space before a mark, but it does not add spacing or fix a missing mark. Add blank lines where each stanza should begin if your paste lost them.
