How to Count the Days

How the Days Are Counted

By default the calculator counts the days from the start date to the end date, which is the gap between them. For example, from the first to the tenth of a month is nine days. Turn on counting both ends to include the first and last day, which gives ten.

Weeks and the Breakdown

The calculator divides the total days into full weeks and any extra days, so 365 days is fifty two weeks and one day. It also gives a breakdown in years, months, and days, which is easier to picture for long gaps.

Counting Both Ends

Some counts, such as the number of days you stay somewhere, include both the first and the last day. The option to count both ends adds one to the total, so you get the inclusive count when you need it.
