TikTok removes nearly 25m videos in Pakistan

TikTok has published its Q1 2025 report, revealing that 24,954,128 videos were taken down in Pakistan for breaking its community guidelines.

Proactive removal rates in Pakistan stayed strong at 99.4%, with 95.8% of these videos deleted within 24 hours, according to the report.

In its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, TikTok highlighted its ongoing effort to maintain a safe online environment for users.

Covering data from January to March 2025, the report outlined the steps TikTok has taken to spot and remove content that violates its Community Guidelines, aiming to provide a positive experience for its global audience.

Worldwide, TikTok removed 211 million videos this quarter, making up about 0.9% of all uploads to the platform.

Out of these, 184,378,987 videos were found and removed using automated detection tools, while 7,525,184 videos were restored after further checks.

The proactive removal rate globally was 99.0%, with 94.3% of flagged videos taken down within 24 hours of being posted.

The report also noted that 30.1% of the removed videos included sensitive or adult themes, which went against TikTok’s rules.

Another 11.5% broke safety and civility standards, while 15.6% violated privacy and security guidelines.

On top of that, 45.5% of the removed videos were flagged as misinformation, and 13.8% were marked as altered media or AI-generated content.
