What the Urdu RTL List Tester Does

The Urdu RTL List Tester takes your lines and builds a live bulleted list and a numbered list, both set to right-to-left. You see the bullets or numbers sit on the right of each item and the text run from the right, which is how a list should look in Urdu.

Lists are a common place where right-to-left layout goes wrong, with markers ending up on the left, and this tool shows the correct result.

Everything runs on your own device. Your text is never uploaded or stored, so it stays private while you test it.

How to Test a List

1. Enter your items. Put one list item on each line.
2. Look at the lists. See the bulleted and numbered lists build live.
3. Check the markers. See the bullets and numbers sit on the right.
4. Copy or download. Copy the summary, or save it as a text file.

Markers on the Right

In a right-to-left list, the bullet or number sits on the right of each item, where an Urdu reader expects it, and the text flows leftward from there. If a list shows its markers on the left, the direction has not been set to right-to-left.

Items with English

An item can hold English or numbers as well as Urdu. With right-to-left direction, the item still starts from the right, and any English or number inside it keeps its own left-to-right order, just as in a paragraph. Setting the items to automatic direction lets each one pick its own side.

Numbered Lists

A numbered list works the same way, with the number on the right of each item. The numbers themselves count up normally. The tester shows the numbered list alongside the bulleted one so you can check both at once.

Accuracy and Limits

The lists are real browser list elements set to right-to-left, so they render the way they would on a page, using your device’s fonts. Each line becomes one item. The marker style follows the browser default for a bulleted or numbered list.

Good to know: a blank line is skipped, so it does not create an empty item.

Your Data Stays Private

The tester runs fully in your browser with standard web technology. Your text is not uploaded or stored, and it is not sent to any analytics service. Only your star rating is sent, to record the tool’s rating. When you close the page, your text is gone.
