Adrien Brody Confirms Whether He’s Banned From ‘Saturday Night Live’

Adrien Brody has addressed rumours about his potential ban from Saturday Night Live.

Despite speculation, the 51-year-old actor explained that he doesn’t believe he’s been banned from the show, joking that if he has, no one has informed him.

Brody, who recently won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture for The Brutalist, clarified during an interview with Vulture that there was never any official ban.

“But I also never got invited back,” he quipped. “So, I don’t know what to tell you.”

Brody hosted an episode of the NBC sketch show in May 2003, stirring controversy after wearing a dreadlock wig and speaking in a Jamaican accent while introducing musical guest Sean Paul.

Rumours of his ban have circulated ever since, gaining renewed attention following his Golden Globe win.

The actor explained that the idea for the moment was his own, though the show provided the costumes.

“They were all really different from my pitching,” he noted, adding, “I think SNL producer Lorne Michaels wasn’t thrilled with me improvising a bit, but he let me go ahead with it.”
