‘The Witcher’ Season 5 Renewal News Sparks Meme Fest, Fans Say ‘Donate The Budget To Charity’

Mid-way Through The Making Of Season 4, Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ Gets Renewed For The Fifth And Final Season.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As the production of ‘The Witcher’ Season 4 kicks off, Netflix has also given a green light for its fifth and final season.

In a recent announcement made on Thursday, April 18, via the official X handle, fans of the fantasy drama series “The Witcher” received some thrilling news. The update confirmed that production for Season 4 has officially commenced. More so, the team behind the beloved series has already set their sights beyond, with plans for Season 5, which is slated to be the concluding chapter of this epic saga. This final season aims to provide a fitting end to the series, promising an impactful and memorable finale.

Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix, the series is based on the book series of the same name. The first season was aired in 2019 featuring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan.

In the fourth season, Liam Hemsworth has joined the cast, replacing Cavill.

As the production of Season 4 of “The Witcher” is currently in progress, the recent announcement concerning the fifth season has surprisingly not sparked much enthusiasm among the series’ followers. Indications suggest a diminishing fan interest over time, a sentiment echoed by the lukewarm responses seen on social media.

Following the announcement of Season 5 by the official X handle of ‘The Witcher,’ the response section was flooded with critical comments from fans. The reactions ranged from dismissive to outright negative.

One X user sarcastically commented, “Oh so we are just ‘pretending’ that its still hype? Gotcha,” highlighting a perceived disconnect between the show’s promotion and its reception.

Another user was more direct, labeling the show an “Epic Fail” and dismissing it as “trash.” These comments reflect a broader sentiment of disillusionment among the fanbase, casting a shadow over the future reception of the series’ final season

Unhappy with Henry Cavill’s replacement in the series, a fan pointed out, “Damn shame the team ruined a good thing. Cavill as the Witcher is 80% of the show, really what’s left if he’s not there….”

“No thanks. You couldn’t even do the show properly with Henry Cavill there. No reason to care without him,” added another fan.

People have made clear that they are no longer interested in the upcoming two seasons of ‘The Witcher’.

“Gonna pass” commented a user while another said, “Nobody cares anymore, guys.”

Poking fun at the Netflix series, one fan wrote, “Donate the budget to charity.”

“Thanks for reminding me to cancel my Netflix for the summer,” read another comment.

Announced in October 2022, “The Witcher” Season 4 has officially moved into the production phase.

The season’s official description reveals a compelling narrative: “After the dramatic, Continent-altering events that concluded season three, the upcoming season will see Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri navigating a Continent devastated by war and scattered with demons, each separated from the others.

Their survival and the possibility of reuniting hinge on their ability to lead and unite the disparate groups of allies they encounter.”

In a major cast shakeup for Season 4, Liam Hemsworth will step into the role of Geralt of Rivia, taking over from Henry Cavill. The rest of the supporting cast will remain consistent with previous seasons.

With the confirmation of a fifth season for “The Witcher,” there is speculation that the production of the two seasons may occur consecutively.

As of now, there are no official release dates for Seasons 4 and 5 of “The Witcher.”

Currently, fans can enjoy streaming the first three seasons of “The Witcher” on Netflix.
