What the Urdu Text Complexity Report Does

The Urdu Text Complexity Report estimates how hard your text is to read. It measures the length of your sentences, the length of your words, and the share of long words, then combines these into a single complexity score with a plain rating.

The rating is easy to act on. An easy score means most readers will follow the text with little effort. A hard score means the writing is dense and may need work to reach a wide audience. The report shows you why, so you know what to change.

Everything runs on your own device. Your text is never uploaded or stored, so it is safe for drafts and private notes.

How to Measure Complexity in Urdu

  1. Paste your Urdu text. Add an article, an essay, or any writing to the box. The direction switches on its own for right-to-left Urdu.
  2. Read the rating. The easy, medium, or hard verdict appears at the top, with the score beside it.
  3. Check the stats. The words, sentences, and averages show what drives the score.
  4. Act on the result. Shorten long sentences and swap long words to bring a hard score down.

How the Score Is Worked Out

The report builds its score from three signals. The first is the average words per sentence, since long sentences are harder to follow. The second is the average characters per word, since long words are often harder than short ones. The third is the share of long words, those of seven characters or more.

These three signals are combined into a single score from zero to one hundred. A low score maps to an easy rating, a middle score to medium, and a high score to hard. The method is a clear, transparent guide, not a formal reading grade.

Reading Your Results

The rating at the top is the headline, backed by the complexity score. Below, the words and sentences give the size, while the average words per sentence and average characters per word show the two lengths that matter most.

The long-word share tells you what portion of your words are long. When a hard score is driven by a high long-word share, swapping some long words for shorter ones is the fastest way to bring the score down.

How to Simplify Hard Text

The two fastest levers are sentence length and word length. When the average words per sentence is high, find your longest sentences and split them at a natural point, so each carries one idea. This alone often moves a hard score toward medium.

When the long-word share is high, look for a long word that has a shorter, everyday alternative and swap it where the meaning allows. Keep the key terms your topic needs, but trade the heavy words that add no value. Re-run the report after each pass to watch the score fall.

Who Uses This Urdu Tool

Writers check that a piece reads at the right level. Editors flag text that is too dense. Teachers match a passage to a class.

Content teams keep a consistent reading level across articles, and students test their own writing before they hand it in. The tool reads mixed Urdu and English, so a bilingual piece is measured in one pass.

Matching Text to Your Audience

The right complexity depends on who will read the text. Writing for a wide public, a news site, or young readers calls for an easy score, where short sentences and plain words keep everyone on board. A dense, hard score can lose that audience within the first paragraph.

Scholarly and technical writing is different. There, a medium or even hard score can be right, because the readers expect precise terms and fuller sentences. The score is most useful when you read it against your reader, not as a target on its own. Aim for the level your audience needs, and use the report to check that your writing actually sits there.

مناسب پیچیدگی کا انحصار قاری پر ہوتا ہے۔ عام قارئین کے لیے آسان اسکور بہتر ہے، جبکہ علمی اور فنی تحریر میں درمیانہ یا مشکل اسکور مناسب ہو سکتا ہے۔ اسکور کو اپنے قاری کے حساب سے دیکھیں۔

Accuracy and Limits of the Report

The result is deterministic. The same text always returns the same score. The tool measures length signals only. It does not understand meaning, and it does not change your text.

Good to know: the score is a guide based on sentence and word length, not a formal reading grade. A short, simple text with one long sentence can read as harder than it is, so use the score alongside your own judgement. The split into sentences relies on end punctuation.

Privacy and Data Processing

The report runs fully in your browser with standard web technology. Your text is not uploaded, not stored, and not sent to any analytics service. When you close or refresh the page, the text is gone. This makes it safe for private drafts and unpublished work.
