What the Urdu Flashcard Generator Does

The Urdu Flashcard Generator turns a plain list of words and their meanings into a set of flashcards you can study from. Flashcards are one of the oldest and most reliable ways to learn vocabulary: you see one side, recall the other, and check yourself. This tool builds them instantly from a list you type, so there is no cutting, writing, or app to set up.

Because the cards are built from your own list, they fit exactly what you are learning, whether that is words from a lesson, a book, or your own reading. You flip through them one at a time, reveal the answer when you are ready, and shuffle to test yourself out of order.

Everything runs on your own device. Your list is never uploaded or stored, so it stays private while you work.

How to Make Flashcards

1. Type your pairs. Put each word and its meaning on a line, separated by an equals sign.
2. See the first card. The word appears on the card; the meaning is hidden.
3. Recall and reveal. Try to recall the meaning, then press Reveal to check.
4. Move on. Press Next to continue, or Shuffle to test yourself out of order.

Writing Your Pairs

Each flashcard comes from one line of your list. On each line you write the word, a separator, and the meaning, for example the word, an equals sign, then the meaning. The equals sign is the default separator, but if your meanings contain one, you can switch to a dash, a colon, a bar, or a tab instead. The tool splits each line at the first separator, so everything before it becomes one side of the card and everything after it the other. A line with no separator becomes a card with just the one side.

Practising With Cards

The cards work the way paper flashcards do. Look at the side that is shown and try to bring the other side to mind before you reveal it. Revealing confirms whether you were right, and the honest moment of recall, or of realising you did not know, is what makes the word stick. Move forward one card at a time, and the counter keeps track of where you are in the set. Going through the whole set more than once, especially after shuffling, is what turns recognition into memory.

Sides and Shuffle

Two options shape your practice. Swapping the sides shows the meaning first and asks you to recall the word, which is a harder test and good for active recall. Shuffling jumps to a random card, so you meet each word without the order of the list to help you. Learning the list in order first and then shuffling is a natural way to build up: you learn the words, then prove you know them when the order no longer helps.

Accuracy and Limits

The tool makes a card from every line exactly as you write it, splitting at the first separator, so the cards match your list precisely.
