What the Urdu Code-to-Character Converter Does

The Urdu Code-to-Character Converter reads Unicode codes and turns them back into characters. It recognises the common ways a code point is written, U+ hex, a JavaScript escape, a decimal number, and an HTML entity, and it can read a mix of them in one go, rebuilding the Urdu text.

This is the reverse of turning characters into codes, and it is handy for decoding a value you found in code or in a web page.

Everything runs on your own device. Your codes are never uploaded or stored, so they stay private while you convert them.

How to Convert Codes

  1. Paste your codes. Enter the Unicode codes, separated by spaces or commas.
  2. Read the characters. The rebuilt text appears in the preview.
  3. Set the plain-number rule. Choose whether a bare number is hex or decimal.
  4. Copy or download. Copy the characters, or save them as a file.
Tip: You can paste a mix of formats, such as U+0627 and 1585 together.

The Formats It Reads

The converter reads U+ hex like U+0627, a JavaScript escape such as backslash u followed by the hex, a longer escape in braces for high code points, a decimal number, an HTML decimal entity, and an HTML hex entity. It picks out each code wherever it sits in the input.

Plain Numbers

A plain number with no prefix could be hex or decimal. The option lets you choose. By default a plain number is read as hex, since code points are usually written in hex, but you can switch to decimal when your list uses decimal numbers.

The Other Direction

To turn characters into codes, use the character-to-code converter, which writes each character as a U+ hex value, an escape, a decimal, or an HTML entity. The two tools together convert both ways.

Who Uses This Converter

Developers use it to decode code points from logs and source. Web authors use it to read HTML entities. Anyone with a list of codes uses it to see the text.

Accuracy and Limits

The converter reads each code in the formats above and builds the character exactly, including high code points written in braces or as large numbers. A token it cannot read as a valid code point is counted as unknown and skipped, so the rest still converts.

Good to know: valid code points run from zero to U+10FFFF; a number outside that range is treated as unknown.

Your Data Stays Private

The converter runs fully in your browser with standard web technology. Your codes are not uploaded or stored, and they are not sent to any analytics service. Only your star rating is sent, to record the tool’s rating. When you close the page, your codes are gone.
